 I am Borja Ortuzar.

In 2012, I finished my degree in Film Direction and Screenwriting at Bande a Part Film school (BAP) in Barcelona, where I could learn from the best Spanish cinematographers.

During that period of time, I participated in many professional film shoots, and I started to develop my career as a boom operator and sound recordist.

My desire to still learn, direct and create my own content led me to develop skills as a camera operator, photographer and editor.

In 2015, I decided to move to Paris to work as a Filmmaker. I had the chance to work with some associations such as 1000 visages and Led by her, which were dedicated to improve the lives and provide opportunities for young people in slums, and women victims of violence who wanted to restart their lives and develop their ideas, projects and businesses.

Those work experiences kept me connected to the cinema, training young people and editing some of their professional projects and recording and editing “e-learnings” courses and events.

I was able to make these social works compatible with other completely different ones related to the world of fashion. I made films for some local brands, such as Laia Varela Joyas, Etc by etcetera, and big brands like Karl Lagerfeld and Marithé+François Girbaud.

At the beginning of 2018, I started to work full time at The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). There, I worked as a video and multimedia co-ordinator in the video department of the Public Affairs and Communications Directorate, where I was responsible for the recording and editing of many events and interviews.

I was also in charge of recording and editing podcasts, coordinating TV studio recordings and creating multimedia content for both social media and the web.

At the end of 2019, I returned to freelancing and working with different companies and agencies.

As an editor, but also as a teacher, giving trainings in corporate video recording and editing for the agency K6 Gestión Cultural, from San Sebastian.

From March 2021 to March 2022, I have worked remotely as Content Editor in the UK editing team for the large creative community Domestika.  I was in charge of editing courses in English and French by artists and experts from the creative sector.

My journey has led me to become a versatile and polyvalent professional, with experience in all audiovisual production departments. I am a reactive and committed person, detail-oriented, who tries to always offer a high quality product.

I am available to travel for any recording, and I am equipped to work remotely on any editing or post-production project.

Native in Spanish, bilingual in French and with an English professional level, I have a great passion for the audiovisual culture and music, and I enjoy meeting new people with whom I can continue to learn and grow.
